Essential oils in the workplace

Essential oils can be super-supportive in the workplace, so let’s take a quick look…

(Obviously there are many different types of work settings… if I don’t cover yours, just drop me a message in the comments and I’ll happily add some suggestions to suit your situation)

Stress support

First off, let’s start with stress support because most jobs come with some degree of stress!

My total go-tos for this are Balance blend, Frankincense and Peace blend.

Balance blend comes pre-diluted so it’s perfect for really simple and discreet topical application whenever, and wherever, you need it.

It has grounding and balancing properties to help you support your emotions, and manage stress.

And if your colleagues love it too, you can diffuse it as well as using it topically, and support them all.

Frankincense is a perfect oil for getting your day off to a good start. This highly prized oil is famous for its grounding and calming properties, and for helping to promote feelings of overall wellness, peace and much more.

Dilute and try applying topically to your temples, back of your neck, pulse points and/or feet (especially when you get up and go to bed).

And Peace blend is a beautiful one for when it all feels too much and anxious feelings are looming.

Apply topically, or use aromatically by inhaling the aroma from the bottle or place a drop in your hands, rub them together, and inhale the aroma from your cupped hands (and then rub the oil on the back of your neck).

Motivation

Ha! Motivation – always a biggie…

Motivate Encouraging* blend is the perfect combo for supporting motivation… it’s a blend of citrus and mint oils which are commonly used for their uplifting and energising properties, and Rosemary is also there supporting attention and focus for the task in hand.

Diffuse or apply topically once diluted in a carrier oil.

Energy

Let’s talk about energy next…

Peppermint is the business for this, and if you add in Wild Orange* and/or Frankincense, the synergistic effect can be even more beneficial.

Try using aromatically by either diffusing or adding a drop in your hands and inhaling the aroma of peppermint (with or without Wild Orange and Frankincense).

Focus

doTERRA have specifically designed a blend to support focus and attention called InTune Focus blend.

And other oils I love for this include Rosemary and Basil as well as the previously mentioned Peppermint and Lavender.

Unwinding

You’ve made it through the day! Phew… and now you’re ready to unwind.

Top of the relaxing list of oils has to be Lavender.

Try adding a few drops of Lavender to some organic body wash (which helps the oil disperse) and add to your bath water for a beautiful soothing bath. Alternatively, diffuse in the bedroom or put a couple of drops on your bed sheets.

I also love diffusing Clary Sage at the end of the day, or again adding a drop to my bedsheets where I can benefit from the restful aroma.

*Be careful with using citrus oils topically if plan on going out in the sunlight within the next 12 hours as these oils can make the skin more sensitive to the sun.

Let me know in the comments which oils you have found particularly helpful in the workplace, and if I haven’t your situation, just let me know and I’ll send you some suggestions x
