4 Books You Need to Read..

I love to read, it’s a great way to keep learning and growing as a person. In a way, it’s a form of self care too. You’ll never regret taking the time to sit down with a good book and cup of tea! I wanted to share with you my four favourite reads over the Summer, as these books have really left an impression for me.

The Desire Map by Danielle Laporte

“Knowing how you actually want to feel is the most potent form of clarity that you can have. Generating those feelings is the most powerfully creative thing you can do with your life.”

The Desire Map is a goal setting process with a complete new outlook. Danielle Laporte wants you to focus on the way you want to feel, not what you want to achieve. Her perspective is that when we achieve the new house, the fancy car, the high paying job, we rarely feel how we think we will when we get there. We chase goals instead of feelings. If you want to flip your goal setting process on it’s head and chase the good feelings, then you need to read this one!

How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie

“Learn the six ways to make people like you, the twelve ways to win people to your way of thinking, and the nine ways to change people without arousing resentment.”

This would have to be one of the most famous books on interpersonal skills. It’s purpose is to help readers express their ideas, assume leadership and generate enthusiasm among groups of people, as according to Carnegie, these are the elements to success. From this book you can really learn how people warm to you, win people over to your way of thinking, and change people without causing offense or resentment.

You Can Heal Your Life by Louise Hay

“Every thought we think is creating our future. You have the power to heal your life, and you need to know that.”

Louise Hay’s best-seller, You Can Heal Your Life, is a transformative book about the fact that we are all responsible for our reality based on the thoughts that we have. Hay believes that our negative thoughts and self-hate is what causes illness in our bodies. She teaches simple affirmations to achieve wellness and healing through a positive mindset.

Being the Starfish by Neal Anderson

“If you put the insights in this book into motion, you will love what you do as a wellness advocate, and unquestionably you will become successful and significant.”

This is an amazing book is a game changer for doTERRA essential oil advocates. It helps you to take out the icky sales approach and allows you to share essential oils in a really natural way. It will help you put helping people first without trying to sell to them. It also teaches to listen to your clients and look at ways that you can be of service and helpful to them. This book essence is that by empowering and inspiring you will be successful, you do not need to be pushy or a yucky sales person.
