What are the Merrymaker sisters all about? Tell me a little bit about you.

We’re Emma and Carla Papas also known as The Merrymaker Sisters. We’re authors, holistic health coaches, paleo recipes developers and social media nerds! We’re passionate about sharing the benefits of the paleo lifestyle and ways to live happier and healthier. On our merrymaker hub we share original recipes, nutritional information and wellbeing advice. We believe that each and every person has been placed on this world to make a difference, we love to guide and assist souls to find their bliss and go and follow it!

What made you both decide to start merry making together?

There really wasn’t a point in time where we decided this is what we wanted to do, it is all very organic! We always knew we wanted to do something together but we just didn’t know what! It’s been a huge journey to get where we are (and it’s still going)! We’re very lucky to have each other to support and encourage one another! There were definitely some AHA! Moments that made us realise that merrymakers was going to be our ‘when we grow up’ we want to do this sort of thing!

Describe what you eat on a typical day?

When we cook and create recipes we like quick, easy, simple and delish! A typical day would start with some fried eggs or a super food smoothie, then we’ve probably have left over dinner for lunch, a slice of our paleo bread as a snack and then dinner (at the moment anyway) would definitely be some sort of slow cooker recipe! Yum! PLUS dessert… there is always room for dessert, would have to be our paleo blueberry and lemon cheesecake!

Why do you eat the way you do?

To put it simply: it makes us feel amazing! Both inside and out! We no longer have any negative thoughts toward the food we eat, our skin cleared and we ditched the 3pm sugar craving/bloated bellies! Plus, we lost weight without really trying. Oh! And it is DELISH! So it is just a win win for us!

What are your favourite snacks to grab on the go?

100% a slice of our paleo bread! We make at least one loaf a week! Yum! Plus, a handful of nuts is always a good idea (just be sure to stop at a handful!).

What are you 5 top tips for someone just starting out on their health journey?

1.     Don’t be intimidated by the ‘no list’ concentrate on what you can eat and filling your plate with good stuff.

2.     Try new food, recipes, paleo websites, cook books, cooking styles and make the whole process fun and enjoyable.

3.     There isn’t a one-size-fits-all when it comes to paleo. Find what works for you and what makes you feel good!

4.     Stock ONLY healthy and fresh food in your house… then you will only eat health and fresh food!

5.     Drink at least 2 litres of water a day!
